Fire Suppression Systems in Manufacturing Environments

Posted 8/20/2017

Manufacturing environments, whether they be power plants, manufacturing plants, assembly plants, petrochemical plants, processing plants, warehouses, or distribution centers, can be tricky to protect from fire. Industrial facilities have unique needs when it comes to fire suppression, and require the fire suppression system to be carefully designed and customized in order to best provide the needed fire protection. If cost is a concern, the fire suppression question just got more complicated.

This is where Cease Fire LLC shines. Since 1986, we have been providing thousands of customers with cost-effective dry chemical fire protection that truly works. Our products have been sold to such varied customers as the U.S. Government, the London Underground, LTV Steel, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Navistar, and O’Hare International Airport, and our sales have numbered 250,000 automatic units and ten million portable fire suppression devices. Our latest product, the CFF-800 has gained FM (Factory Mutual) certification as well as an Underwriter Laboratories (UL) Listing and has been approved by the EPA for its environmentally friendly qualities.

Cease Fire products makes sense for providing your manufacturing plant with fire suppression in so many ways: they are cost effective, infinitely customizable, easy to install and network together, and simple to inspect and replace if necessary.

The cost-effective nature of Cease Fire’s units is mainly due to their modularity. Each fire suppression unit is pre-engineered to contain exactly enough suppressant to extinguish a fire in an area up to 15’ x 15’ with a ceiling of 30 feet or less. This means that there is no waste in fire suppressant during the extinguishing of a fire.

The customizable aspect of Cease Fire’s units is another of its best qualities: each fire suppression unit can be linked and networked with others as determined by the manufacturing customer and Cease Fire representative planning the fire suppression system design to provide outstanding fire suppression just where and when the manufacturing facility needs it.

Installation, repair, and replacement are simple. Each fire suppression unit comes with a mounting flange, which is simply screwed onto the ceiling of the manufacturing plant, warehouse, building, or other industrial facility. Once the mounting flange has been installed, the unit can be screwed into the flange and will remain there until it is removed for replacement after discharging during a fire, or during routine inspection or maintenance.

Finally, due to the fact that the fire protection units are completely self-contained, no expensive, invasive remodeling is required during installation, ensuring that your normal manufacturing processes need not be delayed nor disrupted. We don’t need to tear out your ceilings in order to run new pipes and wiring to our units: they’re fully functional in and of themselves, hence the designation of “modular fire suppression units”.

Cease Fire’s unique combination of DuPont’s FE-227 gas and our own ABC powder provides stellar fire protection and extinguishment. The FE-227 gas quickly---often within four to five seconds---extinguishes the fire and the ABC powder (our own patent-pending CF33 powder) prevents re-ignition of the fire once it has been extinguished. This dual agent dry chemical fire suppression combination has been recognized as being uniquely effective and is in demand world-wide. Your manufacturing plant will be joining esteemed customers like the U.S. Navy when you select Cease Fire LLC to provide the fire suppression system your manufacturing environment needs, and you won’t regret it.
